My name is Bre’Ana Smith. I’m an Illinois license Esthetician and the CEO of Genetic Cosmetics. I started my craft of makeup watching my mother do her makeup and selling MaryKay. My very first time wearing makeup I was a junior in high school for my first prom. I hired a makeup artist for the day and I fell deeply in love with the fact that she made a career out of something I thought could only be a hobby.

Ironically when I got into make up afterwards, my first makeup client was for a prom. Looking back at it, it wasn’t that great because I only knew the basics but the fact that she trusted me with her event was my first step into my career. Over time, I realized my love for science and passion for beauty could coexist. When I left for college, I majored for chemical engineering ,however, that didn’t work out for me.

Years down the line, after learning I was pregnant, I decided to go back to school for aesthetics and that is when my life actually started. I learned the science behind different ingredients and different techniques to the reasoning of how and why the skin can be affected. After getting my license, I made it my goal to share that knowledge with others. From there on, Genetic Cosmetics was born to enhance each customers’ genetic beauty.
